dawn sky : a.lovatt

circling dawn

by andrew lundwall

come for a walk with me
through the expanse of
the stone hands above
your mouth is the incredible
weaving different colors
& in icy tides it rises
against this grain &
i'd like to tell you
that i miss you so
because at first
i was going to
shut my eyes
but the breath-rose
startled my sleep
like alien prose but invited
& in this sleepless wandering
it comes about this way
at first unusual & strange
but transformed real
through the columns
circling dawn's soon arrival
