antebellum : l. ward abel

witting the space

by l. ward abel

Shards
from long retelling,
where
math meets jazz,
becomes
a fiery imperfect
unterrible
beauty,
fallen flat on the green
at Pisa,
you distract yourself;
problem as circle
as asking
as problem.
So
1) yell all you want to
if it makes you feel good;
2) grind your currency
at volatility;
3) dismay at the searing holiness;
4) swing at our leaders;
5) scream for a nexus
between life and numbers;
6) pound something
when nothing
adds up…
but
in the quiet moments
as alpha flows close to the floor-rug
dayward then late,
in those moments
breathe
dream
breathe,
as its own goal
proven.
