I pray in the country of your irises
In the shade of sea foam green
With speckled marigold
And wolf-kiss orchid blue swirling between,
Let me swim the silence of your violet lakes.
Climb the crookedness of your bent grey willows,
Drown dreamily in your honeysuckle rain,
Be crushed beneath your grass scented pillows.

I pray in the country of your irises
Where faintly still, I see my face,
Pluck out the razors of our final conversation
And keep, instead, my laughter and occasional grace.
