M y    C o u n t r y

If the end rises
Let it roll about our shoulders
Sea foam warm,
The roughness of an angry kiss
With a merciless undertow
Preventing reconciliation.

Imagine my smile
Through our marigold sheets,
My whispers over bathtub sea salts,
My silence dripping down on you
When you have made me come so hard
And I don't know what her voice has said
When your consistent mouth
Has overturned my country
And I have fallen off
Into some dangerous parallel version of me,
Some gutter level addict
Crawling through the ruins of your city,
Your crack house address razor carved on her palm.
